- A character format determines the properties of selected text within a
- Pparagraph or text line without affecting the rest of the paragraph or line. For `@
- Iexample, you can use a character format to italicize words that you want
- Gemphasized. You define character formats using the Character Designer.
- KYou can store character formats in a catalog and apply them to other text.
- EYou can also use commands on the Format menu to format specific text 8
- Jwithin a paragraph or the entire paragraph, depending on what you select.

- 4type a new name in the text box to rename or create do
